Net Casino Sucker Bets — Part 2
[ English ]
Progressive side bets: Casino games such as Caribbean Stud Poker often offer one of these. You typically put a bet ($1 is the usual amt.) to attempt to win a side jackpot that could reach $25,000. Although big jackpots like this are very alluring, they are also particularly hard to win. You would have to get a Royal Flush in order to hit this bet. Also, picture this- you play 20 hands and make the side wager every time. That’s $20 you should have used towards the actual game wager instead of a sucker wager. Picture what you could have been able to win at a wager with greater odds using that $20.
Individual number bets in Roulette: This is particularly true for American Roulette. Why? American Roulette has 2 zeroes on the wheel, unlike European Roulette, which has just 1. This shifts the overall house edge from two% with a single zero wheel to a whopping 5% in American. The single number bet has only a 1 in 38 chance of winning, which are very long odds indeed. Bet on even-odd or black-red wagers alternately which have a much smaller casino advantage.
Keno: Any version of Keno, and regardless of how you gamble on it, the house edge can be a whopping 25%. Yes, that isn’t a typo. Because of the huge amount of numbers you have to pick, it is not recommended to gamble on Keno to often. A couple of times for enjoyment, maybe. But do not spend all your cash on it or you will quickly discover yourself bankrupt.
