Online Casino Sucker Bets — Part Two

  • Progressive side bets: Casino games like Caribbean Stud Poker regularly offer one of these. You generally lay a wager (a dollar is the normal amt.) to try to win a side jackpot that could reach twenty-five thousand dollars. Although big jackpots like this are extremely tempting, they are also very difficult to win. You would need to hit a Royal Flush in order to succeed on this wager. Also, imagine this- you play twenty hands and make the side wager every time. That is 20 dollars you could have used towards the actual game wager instead of a sucker bet. Picture what you might have been able to win at a bet with more favorable odds using that twenty dollars.
  • Single number wagers in Roulette: This is especially true for American Roulette. The reason? American Roulette has two zeroes on the wheel, unlike European Roulette, which has only 1. This takes the overall house advantage from 2% with a single zero wheel to a whopping 5percent in American. The individual number bet has just a 1 in 38 chance of succeeding, which are very big odds indeed. Bet on even-odd or black-red bets alternately which have a much lower house advantage.
  • Keno: Any variation of Keno, and regardless of how you wager on it, the casino edge can be a whopping 25%. Yes, that is not a typo. Because of the large amount of numbers you have to pick, it isn’t advisable to wager on Keno to often. A number of times for entertainment, perhaps. But do not spend all your cash on it or you’ll quickly find yourself broke.
